A sport drama based hindi language movie Toofan directed by rakesh Omprakash Mehra. Starring by Farhan Akhtar and Mrunal Thakur. The film is based on a tragic love story and along with boxing.

Toofan Movie Story:

It is a story of championship boxer’s lamentable love story and boxing career. There’s a lot we will see in the movie about boxing, love life, and how he handles his career. Earlier he was not a proficient about boxing. Like an amateur he was a street thug who fights with people and creates violence. Here ‘he’ refers to the main lead role Aziz Ali aka Ajju bhai and the role was playing by Farhan Akhtar itself. Aziz Ali was doing criminal act under Zafar bhai. Now, the character Zafar bhai is a gangster rowdy who found the kid Aziz Ali in a street as an orphan and took him to his place and gave a new life and trained him to fight with people who was against him. We see in the movie that being a good adult he used to go to orphanage to give them his special advices how not to fight with insiders but to fight with outside people.
Being a street thug he when gets a chance upon boxing as an adult he gets injured at the beginning. Mrunal Thakur plays a role of doctor as Ananya Prabhu at a charitable medical hospital institution who almost abhors thugs and violence. When Aziz Ali meets with Dr. ANAYA in the hospital as a patient. She guesses him as a street thug by his action and conversations, she directly refuses to give him treatment because of her hate against this kind of violence.

After joining boxing he often gets injured in the beginning and goes to same hospital. But then, one-day Ananya Prabhu comes to know tha he is practicing his boxing under her father’s coaching. They start meeting each other and as usual happens to one boy and girl they too fall in love suddenly. Aziz Ali is a Muslim boy we can consider it by his name but he is a secular folk. On the other hand, Ananya Prabhu is the daughter of greatest boxing coach Rana Prabhu aka Paresh Rawal who is a fan of Hanuman ji and a Islam phobic. He lost his wife in a terrorism attack and for that he hates Muslim people a lot. When the relationship between his daughter and Aziz Ali reveals he kicked his daughter out of his house.

They two start living at some other place. When muslim community want to change her wife’s name though she belongs to Hindu background, being a secular he refuses to do so. When he cheats while playing boxing he gets caught and banned for 5 years. In this they give birth to a baby girl. Being a good better-half she encourages his husband to play well.
Outrageous feeling that there happens a tragic moment we have to see Ananya’s death by an accident. But their daughter turns 5 years old.
In the ending of the movie, finally Rana Prabhu realizes that he was wrong being unable to accept their relationship. He came to his son-in-law to seek forgiveness and encourages him to play in the ring well. Though he is the greatest coach and he instructs Aziz Ali this time very well and finally he gets the National championship of boxing.

Public Opinion :

I personally feel that the movie is not a worth watching. There’s nothing special in the movie. As usual things we can watch in it. But one thing I can assure that every actor plays his/her role very magnificently. I personally felt the fact when he seems like a secular and denies to change her wife’s name. He loved her the way she was. And though it’s matter of fact that Nana Prabhu was a Islamophobic when it’s a matter of his wife’s death because of terrorism so he was right at some point. But the hate was not so long as we see in the movie. He finally accepts his Muslim son-in-law.
